The Daily Fabulous

For a change to your normal makeup routine, don some fake eyelashes. They are a fabulous thing. And they light up your face!

How to NOT be Fabulous

Fabulous is good. Fabulous if fun! Fabulous is another word for confidence... in yourself. You don't have to dress to the nines to be fabulous. You don't have to look perfect to be fabulous. You don't even have to have the perfect life. You just have to feel it, own it and be able to roll with the punches. And to know, within yourself, that you are one damn fabulous woman.

Am I perfect? God no. Do I wear the best clothes money can buy? Heck no. Am I the most beautiful woman in the world? Please! But am I confident and fierce? Absolutely! That's not to say that there are times when I don't feel it. But for the most part, I do. Because when you feel good about yourself (both outwardly, and especially inside), it shows! And your days are so much better! Own the fierce-ness. If you see that in you, others will see it in you as well. But if you don't? They will also see that.

So, if you want to be fabulous (have confidence), here are a few things on what NOT to do:

1 - If you feel terrible (as in your heart), don't go out in public looking like you dressed to stay in bed. If you want to dress to stay in bed, then just stay in bed. Otherwise, fix yourself up! It will make you feel a little better about whatever situation that you are going through and it won't make others feel uncomfortable that you look SO upset. Keep all the upset within the confines of your home, or your girlfriends home, where you can talk in a more private setting.

2 - Do not make up fake profiles (and then put your real name on it), that have no blogs, no pictures and zero friends listed, but then constantly update your status all for one particular person to see. Oh my God, that is just C-R-E-E-P-Y! And that person? They're gonna be laughing at you! And then everyone will know, and those who don't will hear about it soon enough, that you made a fake profile for one specific purpose and one purpose only. You may think you're fabulous, but this takes your fabulous-ness down several levels that will take a while to get back. It looks desperate, shows may-jah insecurity, and implies that you really don't have your mental shit together. So just don't do it.

3 - Slouching. Runny/streaked/leftover makeup. Hair not fixed. Big no-no's. Stand up straight and fix that make up and hair! If you absolutely cannot make yourself get ready, at least pull your hair back in to a classy and simple ponytail, apply mascara, blush and a light lipstick or gloss. It's amazing what just a little mascara alone can do to brighten up your eyes (and face)!

4 - Don't act like a bitch. Seriously. There is a difference between fabulous (again, confidence) and bitchy. There's no faster way to rub people the wrong way than being a bitch. Now, I'm not saying that if the situation REALLY calls for it, that you don't act like one when you need to. But 99% of the time, you really don't need to.

5 - Don't walk in to a room/bar/restaurant/etc. like you're timid. That's a good way to have no one even notice you've walked in. Walk in like you OWN it. Hold your head up, straighten your back, be smiling when you walk in, and say hello to everyone you knowas you pass them headed to your seat. Never be a wallflower. Be a social butterfuly! Speak up and talk to people! Have a good time!

Now, I could go on and on with this, but you get the point.

The bottom line is the minute you walk out your door, own the fabulosity. Even if you feel crappy, owning your fabulous-ness/confidence will make you feel tons better; not seem like a hot mess.

The Daily Fabulous

"A girl should be two things: Classy and fabulous" -CoCo Chanel

Saving a dollar

People, have I found a deal for you!

If you are like me, you LOVE the expensive salon shampoo & conditioner products, but HATE the price. However, you are willing to pay that price because, well let's face it, those products are better and do a better job (in my personal opinion).

Now, I'm one of those who loves my Aveda and Pureology products. And both are expensive. I have pretty thick, very dry hair. The regular drugstore shampoo/conditioner just won't do what I need it to do because I like smoother, straighter hair. Because my hair has damage from all the highlights, it takes some heavy stuff to get my hair to do what I want. Hence the more pricy products.

But in this economy, we are all looking for ways to save a dollar. And I have found the holy grail of savings for those of you who heart the expensive stuff but really don't need to spend the money on it right now!

I happened upon this little gem purely by accident. I was at Mama's and didn't have any of my products with me - mainly because I was there strictly to help BabySis move to her new bad ass loft apartment. Who needs products for that? She asked if I would like to go to dinner with her and the new bf so I needed something to wash my hair with. Looking around at all of Mama's products in the shower, I came across a bottle of Suave. SUAVE y'all! Now, I know some of you have loved it since forever, but it's never worked for my type of hair. It just doesn't. But this was a special, and new, Suave. It was a salon quality with Nexxus in it. Nexxus is a wonderful line of salon products that I have used on and off over the years. Actually, there was this one Nexxus conditioner that was awesome as a hand lotion. Seriously!

But I digress.

So anyway, being as I had no choice but to use it...I commenced to washing my hair. And let me just tell you right now. That night? I heard the angels singing in that shower!

It smells wonderful, and the conditioner? Oh. My. God. It worked AS WELL AS my Aveda Deep Conditioner that I pay $26.00 a tube for and only get about 5 uses out of because I have so much hair and it's so dry.

Internet, you must try this stuff:

It's a new (or new to me, at least) line they have out called Suave Professional Humectant (with Nexxus). And the best part? It's only about $3.50/bottle! I got lucky and found it on sale at Kroger for $1.88/bottle. I don't know, maybe they were having a sale that week. Whatever.

The point is this this stuff really is serious SALON QUALITY y'all!

Try it! I promise you, you won't be returning it to get your money back. And if you do? Well, you're just crazy.

Welcome to my world!

Hey y'all!

Welcome to my new site! I'm very excited to finally have it up and running! It's been a labor of love and labels (and a lot of thinking it over) to get this going. You'll notice some tweaks here and there as we go along until I'm completely satisfied with the end result, but for the most part, it's a done deal.

Here I'm going to bring you my love of The Four F's: Family, Friends, Food and Fashion. When there is an important event in my life, you'll hear about it here. Fun times with friends (and the Macon night life) - you'll see pictures of it here. I will showcase the restaurants (local and surrounding areas) that I frequent, and even some new ones that I will be checking out in the near future. My thoughts on the food, service, and atmosphere will all be here. You may even see a picture or two of the place!

And the fashion. Oh, the fashion! You are going to see parts of my wardrobe as I add to it and maybe even some fierce new items that I could never afford, but would be oh so sweet to have. And you never know... I just might find a pair of shoes that I would be willing to give up a weeks salary for. I mean, come on - every woman should have a pair of Christian Louboutin's before they die!

In other words, all that's fabulous in my world, you'll find it here. Whatever I may be writing about, it will all have an element of fabulous-ness.

So sit back, relax and let's get this party started - and start rockin' the fabulosity!

Sparkles 'n kisses!
